I’m going to Japan!!!! *squee*

As some of you may know, I study Japanese in university and as such I was given the opportunity to go on a study abroad program in Tokyo during May and June. As I have been selected, I’m super excited! Unfortunately, I don’t know how long the duration of my stay will be and when True Blood will premiere during the summer…so I will probably miss getting out the first one or two recaps for the season on time. However, I will make every effort to get that recap out…and don’t be surprised if you get a few ‘Snarks from Japan‘…lol. Plus, I plan on getting Eric’s Hair Evolution 2 out in April…I’m not sure what the subtitle will be. Maybe Bigger in Dallas…

“Stackhouse Landscaping.” Fabulous. I’m glad I found the right place. I was starting to think that the in breeders out here in the boonies didn’t read, since there wasn’t a sign anywhere in sight. I was almost sure, judging by the accent, that the receptionist wouldn’t disappoint my nearly perfect ‘Podunk experience’. I had to call a tow truck to pull my car out of a rut in an unpaved road. The driver wore overalls without a shirt, but didn’t forget his jean jacket. Hick. Since cell reception was a joke, I had to walk nearly a mile to get reception, ruining a new pair of boots. Fucking red clay. And the one place there was to eat out here was about as appetizing as the floor of a truck stop restroom, and now I was starving. So I was sure that the ‘receptionist’ would complete the tour into the outer limits for me. Pushing 300 pounds. Greasy hair matted to an unappetizing face with more of a beard than I could muster in a week. She would probably be wearing something spandex and sleeveless to accentuate her batwings and strap flab. I’d bet a million dollars that her teeth alone could scare a maggot from a cow pie.

A Halloween wreath with bells on it announced me and I barely saw the top of a head over the cubicle-like desk and artificial fall flower arrangement in the small waiting area. I approached slowly, giving myself the strength to face this possible ogre on the other side of the partition.

I was shocked speechless by the sight before me. The source of the friendly country greeting I’d heard didn’t at all belong to the she-beast I had expected. Rather an angel. Not literally of course, but close. Her blond hair looked as soft as cloud and framed her radiant face. Her sky blue eyes arrested mine and her soft pink lips formed a smile that was completely, unbelievably home and sex at the same time as she waved like we were old friends and then held up a finger, whispering ‘just a sec’.

I’d wait a year, as long as the view didn’t change.

Hello Peeps! Ok so the holiday season is upon us and I am going to be freaking busy. I work in retail so I will be working double hours, I have school functions for the kids, neighborhood and family events. I have to get the house decorated inside and out, make fudge, cookies, banana bread, and other goodies. I have two fics I am working on and now there is a contest I want to write a one shot for so badly I can taste it! I am also working on an original short story I plan on posting on my itty bitty writing blog, it’s so tiny only like 8 people have ever gone there! Oh and one more thing…I am also working on a book. Oh yeah you read that right, an all original created in my head world with lots of characters all clamoring for me to get this right. I am a nervous wreck!

So have lots of stuff to go over today: contests, winners, products, friends, charities…. I hope I don’t forget anything!!

Fan Friday and The Great SVM Reread!

Simba, what on earth are Fan Fridays?

Fan Friday…

Well, they’ll take place from now on starting next Friday, December 11th. Fan Fridays are when we will feature three works from the fans, one fanfic, one fanvid and one fanart. We really want to showcase fans and we’ll pimp your work via twitter and the main blog each Fan Friday, it’s a great way to get yourself out there and get noticed by the community.

The featured entries will be posted and displayed on the site each Friday. Fanfics will receive a small excerpt on a post and a link to where they are located, for example, fanfiction.net or LJ etc. Fanart will have thumbnails displayed in a post that will be linked to a larger pic hosted at DevArt, photobucket etc. Fanvids will be embedded in a post and clicking will enable the viewer to see it at YouTube or Dailymotion etc.

How do I get featured on Fan Friday?

This is a clear case of ‘Don’t call us, we’ll call you.’ People are more than welcome to email us suggestions at bloodbondsblog@gmail.com for featured works, but requesting that your work be featured for Fan Friday is a sure fire way for us to say ‘no.’

Lil, EBCM and I are longtime fanfic writers and connoisseurs of all things fandom, so if it’s out there, we probably know about it. We will select works based on merit, originality and content. Creators of the works selected will be informed before each Fan Friday and participation will be requested. We’ll always ask if you want it posted on our site before we do it. So no worries, if you don’t want to participate.

The Great SVM Reread!

See, I’ve got this thing sitting here called the Forum that has kinda been neglected for awhile…lol. Now that we have a domain name, I’m thinking about finding a new host for our forum or at least changing the layout of the current one over Christmas…it’s been a project in the making that I’ve been wanting to do for a long while.

Anyway, I have this Forum that’s just sitting there and I had always intended it to be a place of intense discussion. Only I became really myopically focused on the blog. The blog has been a great place for some really great discussion, but I really think it’s time to bring some of it back to the forum. It’s a place where you don’t have to use Mad New Comment Finding Skillz to read new comments and a place for more solid discussion and it’s time it got used. We’ve met our goals with a lot of things about this site, having so many people actually come and leave comments for our reviews, recaps and other posts is great, but our intentions for the forum has been neglected. So many people have joined as of late and want a special experience from the boards that’s just not happening right now.

We really want to change that.

We’re going to start rereading the entire SVM series in preparation for Dead in the Family coming out in May! I will post a review and then help lead some intense discussion in the forums, so that this site truly becomes the hive for ideas, opinions and views that I have wanted since its inception.

The reread will start RIGHT NOW with Dead Until Dark and I’ll post a review on it in about two weeks and start off the discussion on the forums.

I found this article today while surfing, didn’t see it here so figured I’d share my findings. Here’s the main part I was somewhat excited about, the kid stood his own against Miller and Purcell, lets see how he does against Trammel.

True Blood/Prison Break: Lincoln’s (Dominic Purcell) little boy Marshall Allman is all growed up and heading to HBO’s True Blood to play Sam’s little bro! According to E.W., Shannon Lucio, who also appeared on Prison Break was the GATE receptionist who turned out to be an undercover Fed, has been cast as Bill’s wife, Caroline. Hey, casting directors, how about bringing on that guy from Mariah Carey’s old video as a vampire? Wentworth something or other?
